The white washed walls and tiled floors contrast with ancient wooden beams and rustic features combining modern and traditional elements.There is a grand living room, six beautifully furnished bedrooms, nine luxurious bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and an impressive dining room with a stone fireplace and a table large enough to comfortably seat more than a dozen guests. Furnished with the owner’s personal cutlery, porcelain and fine tablecloths along with Venetian glass chandeliers and Persian carpets, the castle continues its high standard of luxury down to the smallest details. The large swimming pool that is surrounded by cypress trees, is set in a walled garden not far from the house. With gardens and an outdoor dining area, the castle is perfect for outdoor as well as indoor entertainment. In addition, there is abundant opportunity for hiking and cycling. Being in the Chianti region of Tuscany, there’s also fun areas to explore for wine tasting. For something a little less secluded, the charming town of Lucca with its Renaissance city walls, wide enough to walk and cycle around the 2 ½ mile periphery, is minutes away. Be sure to take some time to wander its narrow streets, browse its many elegant shops, and appreciate its piazzas. The most famous is the Piazza Amphitheater which was originally a Roman amphitheater and today, almost 2000 years later, is a charming spot for people-watching and markets.
